Welcome to the Siskiyou Artists Association (SAA) web site. We are a congenial group of Northern California artists who meet regularly to exchange ideas and learn more about visual arts.
SAA supports local artists by providing critiques and demonstrations at monthly meetings, workshops, and an annual show in late summer at the Mount Shasta Sisson Museum. Each year the association also awards scholarships to local graduating high school and college art students.

Next Meeting - February 26, 2012The next general meeting on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Lake Shastina Community Center will feature a critique by Ron Richards. SAA members and guests are welcome to bring one artwork for Ron's critique. Please bring your work to the meeting by 1:30 p.m. The critique will follow a short business meeting beginning at 2:00 p.m. 2011 AwardsAt the October 2012, members selected George Kraemer's watercolor as Artwork of the Month. Susan Nihen's watercolor painiting was selected as Artwork of the Year. Congratulations, George and Susan! Annual Show WinnerCongratulations to Melinda Whipples-Plank who won Best of Show at SAA's 54th Annual Show at the Sisson Museum. More than 20 show awards were presented at the opening reception on August 19. Thanks to everyone who particpated in this year's show. Congratulations to 2011 SAA Scholarship WinnersEach year the SAA awards scholarships to local art students. SAA is happy to announce the winner of the 2011 Scholarship Award of $750 to COS student Jodi Houston. This year SAA also awarded a $350 Special Merit Award to recent high school graduate, Angela West. These awards were presented at SAA's 54th Annual Show Reception on Friday, August 19. |
